Parish Nurse
Health and Wholeness
Our Parish Nurse coordinates ongoing classes for health and wellbeing. We are currently focused on two areas:
1. Dementia/Alzheimer's Education geared both for those who care for a loved one and for those stricken; and
2. Transitional Care from hospital to home - our Parish Nurse can help with medications and therapies.
UMYF - Ministry with Students
Fun for All
UMYF is for students in grades 6 - 12.
UMYF meets on Wednesday nights starting @ 6:30pm
Worship, service projects in the local community, Biblically based conversations about current events, and sharing what's going on in our lives encompasses the structure of UMYF along with just plain having fun together. Anyone can be part of UMYF - you don't have to be a member of First UMC to participate.
First UMC of Lafayette declares itself to be a Reconciling Congregation and affirms the inclusion of people of al sexual orientations and gender identities in all its ministry areas. Our faith community chooses to explicitly convey that every person is considered to be worthy of God's forgiveness and love, and is a blessing to our Beloved Community.
