Terms of Service

Last updated: August 26, 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of NearMeChurch, including our church directory, websites, accounts, church-management tools, and related services. By using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 13 years old to use NearMeChurch. If local law requires a higher minimum age, that age applies.

You must be at least 18, or otherwise legally able and authorized, to claim or manage a church. If you act for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.

2. Accounts and security

Provide accurate, current information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity through your account and should notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized use. We may require verification before allowing someone to manage a church listing.

3. Church listings

Church profiles, service times, accessibility details, events, directions, and other information may come from churches, administrators, community members, or public sources. Details can change without notice, so confirm time-sensitive information directly with the church.

Administrators are responsible for keeping managed listings accurate and having permission to publish submitted information and media. We may correct, merge, restrict, or remove listings to protect users, resolve ownership disputes, or improve accuracy.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit, including descriptions, photos, events, announcements, and prayer requests. You grant NearMeChurch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, and display it as needed to operate, improve, and promote the service.

You must own your content or have permission to submit it. Do not post another person’s confidential or sensitive information without permission. Content marked public—including public prayer requests—may be visible to anyone.

5. Acceptable use

You may not break the law; impersonate others; misrepresent your authority; harass, exploit, or discriminate; distribute spam or malicious code; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; attempt unauthorized access; disrupt the service; or collect data through unauthorized automated means. We may remove content or limit access when we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or creates harm.

6. Communications and appointments

If you subscribe to a church, request an appointment, submit a prayer request, or opt in to announcements, we may send service-related email, push, or text communications on that church’s behalf. Message and data rates may apply. You may unsubscribe from eligible messages, but essential account or transaction messages may continue.

NearMeChurch provides communication and scheduling tools; it is not a party to pastoral, counseling, sacramental, medical, financial, or other services arranged through them.

7. Our service and intellectual property

NearMeChurch and its software, design, branding, and original content belong to us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent storage.

8. Third-party services

The service may link to or use third-party providers for maps, hosting, email, messaging, and other functions. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or conduct.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NearMeChurch is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NearMeChurch and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of what you paid us in the prior 12 months or US $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, fraud, security risks, legal requirements, or conduct that could harm users or the service. Provisions that should by their nature survive will remain effective.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

13. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms and will post a new date above. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept it. Applicable law governs these Terms while preserving mandatory consumer protections. If one provision is unenforceable, the others remain effective.

14. Contact us
