In Faith and Community, We Love, Serve, and Grow
Our goal as a church is to be welcoming to all. And for us, all means all. We, of course, are not perfect. Some of us do better than others at welcoming everybody. But as a body, we have decided that we want to move in the direction of inclusion—inclusion of everyone, with all of their diversity of races, sexual orientations or preferences, genders, ethnicities, political or social perspectives, and (dis)abilities.
The Church is an interesting place. It is one of the few places left in our world where you can really be with people who are so different from you. We make so much of our lives echo chambers, where we only hear the voices we agree with. Church is one place where liberals sit down next to conservatives and attempt to figure out how to live together.
We cannot promise a safe place where nobody will ever get hurt. Anyone who tries to sell you that cannot follow through on that promise—there never can be a truly safe place. However, where ever you are coming from, whatever your experiences with churches in the past, we will do our best to create an environment that will be welcoming and enriching.
