A historic congregation, First United Methodist Church was founded in 1821, meeting first in private homes. By the grace of God, our church has grown over the years. Through the vision and generosity of many, we opened the doors at our current location on Easter Sunday 2003. Our facility and membership are now large but one thing has not changed with time. Our church still feels like family. You can be known here. We warmly welcome you! Come worship with us and consider joining us for the opportunities we offer for all ages each week.

Sanctuary Ringers Handbell Choir
Music, Arts and Worship
Rehearsal are on Sundays from 5-6 p.m. The Sanctuary Ringers is available to adults interested in ringing handbells. Members are invited to join the group at the start of the Fall or the Spring. Spots are sometimes available during the year.
Modern Worship Service
Worship
This service in the Family Life Center offers passionate contemporary Christian music. Preaching is done by staff rotation. The modern worship includes weekly communion.

There is no audition required to participate in this group. A basic knowledge of music reading is very helpful, but you can learn to read or improve your reading skills during choir rehearsals. A nursery is provided by request whenever the choir meets.

Chancel Ringers Handbell Choir
Music, Arts and Worship
an advanced handbell choir ringing five octaves of handbells. Membership by invitation & audition. All members are drawn from the Sanctuary Ringers no matter their personal skill level or past ringing experience.
Traditional Worship
Worship
Located in the Sanctuary. The music is led by a choir, & singing is accompanied by a 50-rank pipe organ. Preaching is done by a rotation of the staff. The weekly broadcast at 11:00 a.m. can be found on WGNS-AM 1450, 100.5 FM, and 101.9 FM. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month.
