Deep Blue Adventures Saturday School

Spiritual Life

Kids ages 3-12 are invited to join us for a fun day once a month from 10-11:30am at St. James UMC in Coburn!

Children will:

• learn the language of faith while growing in the love of God and Jesus.
• practice faith formation with children of various ages.
• work through the biblical message using their learning style to do activities for their age level.
• experience God’s love through prayer, activity, and worship each week by attending services Sundays at 9:45am.

The Deep Blue Adventures curriculum is what we use for our children’s message Sunday mornings, so the neat art projects will decorate our sanctuary for praise and worship! The children and their families are encouraged to come to church the next day so the kids can share what they learned at Deep Blue! Plus, they get to take their project home!

The free app that goes with the curriculum is available and you can read all about it here. It’s a neat way for parents to know exactly what we focused on that weekend and watch a fun video, and play some neat games!

Youth Pizza Study

Spiritual Life

All youth in grades 7-12 are invited for pizza, drinks, and discussion, games and video that dig into the topic of the day.  We have a pretty good time, too.

Current study: CORE (Connect, Own, Reveal, Empower®), a resource designed to help teenagers discover their true identity, value and worth as God’s children and empower them to reach their potential in faithfully following Christ with others. Teens go on the journey of addressing the obstacles they’ve experienced in understanding who they are in Christ toward connecting with God and others in new and healthy ways.

RESERVATION required for proper planning for food and materials.  RSVP to Pastor Theresa by Noon the day of the study.

This study opportunity is open to ALL youth in the valley.  You do not have to be a member of this, or any, church to attend.

Renewing Waters Service of Baptism and Rewewal of Baptism

Are you ready to take the plunge and start fresh?

We’re planning October 20, 2019 to bring the renewing waters of Baptism and Reaffirmation of Baptism!

We live in a time when folks have grown up never having attended a church, let alone having been baptized.  For those who think it's "too late" to make the public declaration that you are ready to be cleansed of sin and start new as a dedicated follower of Christ, this service is for you.  We will walk alongside you and help you to understand what baptism means.  And after the Renewing Waters service there will be a 3 session study offered to help you understand your new identity in Christ!  It's time.

If you were never Baptized before and are feeling ready to take that step, I’d love to talk with you and make it happen.

If you were baptized as a young child but fell away from the church or never went through a confirmation process allowing you to make the commitment for yourself and now feel that you need to recommit yourself as a Christian, consider Reaffirmation of your Baptism.

If you are ready to have your child baptized into a church signifying God’s initiative in the process of salvation, I would love to talk to you.
