First United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City has a long history of ministry and outreach to the Oklahoma City community. Since it’s beginning, the first Sunday after the Land Run of 1889, First Church has shared the love and gospel of Jesus Christ to countless people during some of our nation’s most challenging times. From the rugged pioneer days, through two World Wars, past the urban flight of the 1960s and even the infamous April 1995 bombing, First Church has resolved to be a relevant presence and witness in the heart of Oklahoma City. First Church is a unique congregation with a strong connection to our past, but we are also very focused on our future, and the extraordinary call God has placed before us as an urban, downtown church. This page will tell you more about where we came from, where we're going, what we believe, and the staff which serves this local body of believers.
