Service / mass schedule

Sunday School - September through mid-June

Worship

From September through mid-June, our Sunday School classes are for all ages. We have a well-appointed toddler room and age relevant classes from toddlers through senior citizens. Please consider joining us.

Worship - mid-June through Labor Day

Worship

Summer worship services are held downstairs in our air-conditioned chapel beginning Father's Day and ending the Sunday before Labor Day.

Adult Sunday School Class (1 of several):

Spiritual Life

This class is aimed more at older adults, but all are welcome to attend. They study a different Biblical topic each week as they fellowship together. Class meets in our downstairs Chapel from September through mid-June.

Parish Nurse

Health and Wholeness

We have a Parish Nurse program and a Health Cabinet made up of church members in various occupations in the health field.  In 2016, approximately 10 of our Health Cabinet members and other members of our congregation participated in and completed the Ujima Health program run by the Drexel University School of Medicine.

SALT (Sound and Light Team)

Music, Arts and Worship

This team generally runs the sound system and the projection system (with a laptop computer used for Power Points) during the Worship Service.

Sanctuary Choir

Music, Arts and Worship

Open for all from grade 7 through Adult.  Our choir practices from September through the end of May and participates in worship services from September through mid-June.  We usually sing one anthem during the service, but twice a year, for Christmas and Easter, we perform a cantata which is generally the entire worship service in music.  Our practice is on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 but for the month or six weeks leading up to each cantata, we start at 7:00pm and practice the cantata first for anyone interested in joining us for just that performance.

Annual MYP-Sponsored Thanksgiving Breakfast

Fun for All

For more than 55 years, our youth group has hosted a Thanksgiving Breakfast. The members of our youth group are up early on Thanksgiving morning, and they're ready to serve scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage and that delicious home-made danish.

Worship - September through mid-June

Worship

Worship starting the Sunday after Labor Day through the 2nd Sunday in June is at 10:30 AM

Praise Team

Music, Arts and Worship

Various practice times, but often on Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30pm and Sunday mornings in the sanctuary from 9:30 - 10:15.   The Praise Team participates in the worship service once a month, leading more contemporary worship songs.

Children's Choir

Music, Arts and Worship

Our children's choir practices at the beginning of the Sunday School period every Sunday and sings at the worship service once a month.  All children are welcome to participate and we have singers ages 2 - 12.  Some Sundays we have as many as 20 children singing God's praises.  We are blessed to have so many young families in our church.

Girlfirends of God (A Circle of the United Methodist Women)

Fun for All

The Girlfriends of God is a recently organized Circle of the UMW. We meet in the evenings to accommodate members who work. We recently held a Victorian Tea (a first for our church) and raised money to help pay for our new boiler.

Food Pantry

Hunger

We collect canned goods and distribute them to local food banks to be distributed throughout the community.

MYP (Ministries with Young People)

Fun for All

Our Youth Group generally meets Sunday evenings from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM and is open to youth in grades 7-12. Please call, however, as occasionally there are other activities scheduled that preempt the regular meeting schedule.

Annual Community Dinner

Reaching Out in Mission

Our annual Community Dinner is always a big success.  We generally serve around 100 meals, split evenly between dine-in and take-out meals.  We serve turkey and ham with a variety of side dishes.  Close to half the congregation participates in the meal in some manner (cooking, set-up, serving, clean-up, donations, etc.).

United Methodist Women

Fun for All

This original main group of the UMW meets four times a year from September through June. They are missionally focused and have an active calendar of projects.
