You can access our prayer chain online or via the phone numbers provided in our weekly bulletin. Your prayer needs can be distributed to as many or as few as you wish. We are here to pray for you!

Nursery

The Alice Brown Nursery has been providing childcare for the youngest members of LUMC for decades. Nursery attendants are available during Sunday School through Worship Service.

Worship Service

Worship

As a church the Laurel United Methodist Church has been ministering in the community of Laurel for over 100 years! Our church family is a wonderful mixture of young families, older couples, children, youth...All are welcomed at the Laurel UMC.

MYF (Youth Group)

Worship

Youth Group gathers for several hours on Sunday evenings, beginning with a meal at 5PM These meals are generously provided by members of the church. After dinner the youth gather in the Sanctuary for Worship, and continue their evening with fun and games.

Family Ministries

Family Ministries was created to schedule and host events that would engage the congregation as a whole. We have classes and groups for children and adults, but these activities are meant to bring us together as one.

This group gathers to update and create the beautiful banners you'll see raised in the Laurel UMC sanctuary.

Sunday School

Worship

Sunday School is available for children in Preschool (3yrs)-Jr. High. We follow the Grow, Proclaim, Serve! curriculum. Colorful, engaging, theologically sound materials invite children to explore the Bible in fun, age-appropriate ways.

Laurel UMC has 3 different Circles that gather for book and in-general discussions. Ruth Circle meets in the church Parlor.

Worship Volunteers

Our Worship Volunteers include Greeters who will welcome you as you find your way to the sanctuary, Liturgists to read during Worship, and Fellowship Time a.k.a. goodie providers for after Worship.

Chancel Choir

If singing is something that interests you, then this choir is for you! All are welcome to participate. Sunday morning practice, singing the music that will be sung during that Sunday's Worship. Young, old, or somewhere in between,we'd love to have you!

Altar Guild Committee

This committee is always open to new individuals who are interested in decorating the altar for Sunday morning Worship service. This is one committee where you can work individually, in pairs, or as a group. This group typically does its work on Fridays.
