Children's Programs
Fun for All
Here at the First United Methodist Church of Turlock we strive to teach children about God’s great love in an environment rich with friendship, fun, and caring. Through music, stories, crafts, games and activities our children discover the building blocks of respect, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, and faith.
Little Lights Pre-School
Reaching Out in Mission
Little Lights Preschool is an extension of First United Methodist Church’s educational and outreach ministries with age-appropriate Christian values that are shared through our curriculum. We believe that the love and example of Christ is experienced through others, and we strive to show this love and acceptance to children and their parents. Our preschool is a caring, kind and loving preschool that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow in every area of their development.
Youth Group
Fun for All
Our youth have a place where they can be themselves and discover God’s love. Our gatherings are built on respect and care for one another, and living our faith every day.
The First United Methodist youth ministry includes weekly Sunday School classes for 7th through 12th graders, and evening groups called UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship). In the past year our youth have performed in church plays, worked with Habitat for Humanity, gone Christmas caroling and bowling, participated in fun games and thoughtful discussions, and repaired homes for needy families as well numerous community service projects. Annually our Senior High Youth Group spend a week of their summer on a mission trip through Sierra Service Project. All of this happens in groups that meet weekly and emphasize fun, caring, and support.
Junior High Youth Group meets Sundays 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the Asbury Quad.
Senior High Youth Group meets Sundays 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the Senior High Classroom in Asbury Hall.
