Donated food items,children's gifts and clothing are gathered, sorted, wrapped, and distributed to make Christmas wishes come true. Each year volunteer shoppers, sorters, potato baggers, gift wrappers, labelers, box makers, car loaders, deliverers and cleaners from all around our community get together to joyfully donate their time to bring Christmas to those who might not have it otherwise. If you would to join us, contact Sheri Fuest @ 989-883-3350.CampershipsFun for AllA percentage discount is given to children associated with Trinity United Methodist Church, so they may attend a United Methodist Camp.Children's Fun DayReaching Out in MissionEach August, Trinity United Methodist Church offers the community a Children's Fun Day which includes stories, games, devotions, crafts, and lunch for children ages 5-12 from 10:00am until 2:pm on August __.WICHealth and WholenessThis federally funded program serves low and moderately income pregnant, breastfeeding and post-partum Women, Infant and Children up to the age of five who have a nutrition related health problem. This health and nutrition program has demonstrated a positive effect on pregnancy outcomes, child growth and development. **Participants must register at the Health Department in Bad Axe (989-269-9721 X8) before meeting with a representative here. Breakfast ClubHealth and WholenessSix times a year, Trinity UMC volunteers to prepare and serve a free breakfast to USA High Schoolers who would otherwise go without breakfast. The students have really enjoyed our visits, as well as the Cheesy Scrambled Eggs and Homemade Cinnamon Rolls, Hashbrown Scramble; and Pan Pancakes and Sausage. Todd and Misty Cramer, Blue Water Thumb Youth for Christ Campus Directors, provide prayer and information regarding up-coming youth activities,before the youth go to class. Coats For KidsReaching Out in MissionNew or gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, mittes, scarves, and boots are collected for school-aged children in need in early October at Luke's Supermarket, the Sebewaing Township Libary and Trinity UMC. A distribution date is set each year at Trinity UMC during October/November . Contact Sheri Feurst @ 989-883-3350 for more information.Winter Ice Cream & Movie NightsReaching Out in MissionEach January, our church advertizes the movies chosen for Feburary and March showings, as well as the date of the events. Ice Cream with toppings are available for a free-will offering (used for United Methodist Men's projects) before the group divides into adults and children for age-appropriate movies. The adult movie always has a Christian theme and the children's movie is alway "G" rated. Angel GownsReaching Out in MissionThe women of our church deconstruct wedding dresses, to cut out and sew together burial gowns for miscarried, premature infants, so that families may find closure. These dresses are donated to the local hospitals for this purpose. Contact Carrie Graf @ 989-883-3350.Operation Christmas Child--ShoeboxesReaching Out in MissionEach year, Trinity United Methodist Church participates in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, to distribute gifts to boys and girls in need and tell them about God’s Greatest Gift—Jesus Christ. In January, we begin collecting items that will fit into a shoebox for ages 2 through 14. Be a part of blessing children around the world by prayerfully packing a shoebox. Shoeboxes are collected in early November, so they will arrive by Christmas.
